Wake, Pray, It’s Transfer Day!
Transfer day is finally here! Yesterday, I was anxiously awaiting the call from Shady Grove to let us know what time the transfer will take place. As we were driving to a family BBQ, SGF called to let us know that the transfer is scheduled for 9:30am on Tuesday (Tomorrow!!) As soon as I got off of the phone with the nurse, I called the IF (Intended Father) to let him know the transfer time. We communicate fairly often through text but I thought it would be nice to give him a call this time. We both expressed how excited we are and how we’re grateful that it’s in the morning so we can just wake up and go!
Even though we are all cautiously optimistic, I have to say that everything is looking wonderful so far. I had my second and final baseline appointment on Wednesday which consisted of blood work and an ultrasound to make sure that my body is responding to the meds. I was on Lupron for approximately 2.5 weeks which is an injection in my stomach to keep me from ovulating. After the baseline appointment, I stoped Lupron and started Progesterone injections which is injected into my backside. I have been on Estrogen as well which is tablet that I take 3 times a day which I have been taking at 7am, 2pm, and 9pm. The estrogen pills thicken my uterine lining which is needed to help the embryo implant. When measuring the uterine lining, the fertility clinic wants the lining to be 8mm or more. During my mock cycle, it measured at 10mm which is wonderful. At Wednesday’s appointment, my lining measured at 13mm!! It was also “Triple striped” which is hard to explain but I can tell you that it’s really good!
The over planner that I am, I have been working working on my pre-pregnancy list that I made, lol. For a Mother’s Day present, I asked my husband if I could treat myself to a house cleaning so instead of worrying about scrubbing showers and cleaning floors, I can spend more time having fun with the kids. Within the last few days I got a lot of lawn work done, took my daughter and cousin for a fun day at Zava Zone, and had a really nice and relaxing family BBQ at my cousins house yesterday. Having the house cleaned was the best idea so instead of spending the weekend doing strenuous chores, I had a nice fun weekend and now I can take it easy for a few days after the transfer!
As excited and optimistic as I am, I do think about the possibilities of the transfer not working. I don’t know how accurate it is, but I read somewhere that IVF has about a 63% success rate which is pretty good, but it’s not 100%. Honestly, I will say that I am feeling really good about tomorrow’s transfer. I’m looking forward to seeing the IF tomorrow and transferring a beautiful little embryo that I pray get’s nice and cozy and hangs out with me for the next 10 months!
In less than 24 hours I will wake, pray, because it’s TRANSFER DAY!
I’m so excited for you! I wish I could take this journey, too. It’s such a selfless act, helping someone else’s family to grow. Sending good vibes, prayers, and love!
Thank you, Teri <3 <3
